About Ryley!

Hi, I’m Ryley Irwin, a Visual Communication Design student at Kent State University, working toward my BFA. My passion for typography began in my first studio class, where I discovered how letterforms can shape meaning and communicate different ideas to the viewer. I love exploring different creative areas—from branding to editorial layouts to UX design—and I see every new challenge as an opportunity to refine my eye for design and type. Whether crafting a brand identity or perfecting a page layout, I strive to create work that is both thoughtful and visually engaging.

In my design process, I think beyond conventions, always looking for unique solutions tailored to the project at hand. I approach every brief with fresh eyes, whether that means designing extra pages to elevate a book or developing a full deck of cards instead of just a few for a travel game. My goal is to create cohesive, well-crafted designs that strengthen the impact of every project.

When I’m not designing, you’ll definitely find me exploring new areas and playing Pokémon Go with my wife. I’m also a diehard Cleveland Cavaliers fan and love playing Magic: The Gathering, whether casually with friends or at tournaments. And when I need to unwind, I enjoy diving into my Bible with a fizzy in hand.
